Psychotherapy isn't about fixing people; it's about creating space in which individuals can feel fully seen and heard. This, in turn, provides an environment for change, and can lead to a more fulfilling life.

Free 20-minute initial phone consultation: Please email or call me at (415) 935-3827 to set up a consultation. When we speak, I'll ask you to share a little bit about what is prompting you to reach out at this time. During this call, I will also provide you with information about how I work and go over my office policies. You are also welcome to ask any questions. If it seems like we might be a good fit, we can go ahead and schedule an initial in-person appointment and I will send you a link to my secure client portal where you will have access to my practice documents and will be asked to complete a few questionnaires before our first appointment. However, if, for whatever reason, it doesn't seem like a fit, I am happy to provide referrals.
Initial appointment: This initial intake appointment is a 75-minute session during which time we will review office policies, I will ask more direct questions to get a sense of your history and any contributing factors, what you've tried in the past, what has seemed to help, and we will start to work on goals for the therapy. Throughout this initial and subsequent sessions, I invite an open dialog about what's working and what might not be so we can adjust accordingly. Subsequent sessions tend to be weekly and are 50 minutes.
Length of therapy: The length of therapy depends on various factors including but not limited to the duration of the problem(s), level of outside support, and willingness and ability to engage meaningfully during sessions and apply learnings outside of therapy. For some, goals can be met in a few sessions. Others, especially those who have been struggling for some time, will likely benefit from longer-term therapy.
